Catalog / Liquid Cooling Containment

Liquid Cooling Containment

Direct-to-chip and rear-door liquid cooling put fluid inside the rack row, and the hardware that catches it when a coupling weeps or a manifold fails is not yet a settled product category. Containment is sized to the fluid volume that can actually reach the floor, not to the footprint of the equipment above it.

What we supply

Rack drip trays and containment pans

Low-profile trays that sit beneath rack-mounted cooling connections and equipment, sized to hold fluid from a slow weep or a single coupling failure until it can be drained or noticed.

Specify by: rack footprint, fluid capacity, lip height, material.

CDU and manifold containment

Pans and enclosures sized to the connection count and fluid volume at a coolant distribution unit or manifold, where the largest concentration of couplings in the row sits.

Specify by: unit footprint, connection count, fluid capacity, drain provision.

Leak detection integration

Cutouts, sensor rails, and cable pass-throughs built into a containment pan so a leak detection cable or point sensor sits at the low point of the pan, where fluid collects first.

Specify by: sensor type, cutout location, cable routing, pan compatibility.

Drain fittings and evacuation

Fittings that let a filled pan be drained to a container or floor drain without lifting or tilting it, and without disturbing the equipment sitting above it.

Specify by: fitting size, connection type, pan compatibility, valve or plug.

Coolant-compatible materials

Trays, gaskets, and seals in a material rated for the specific coolant in the loop, since a pan that holds water will not necessarily hold a glycol mixture or a dielectric fluid without degrading.

Specify by: coolant type, material, seal type, temperature rating.

Specifying liquid cooling containment

Containment is sized to the local pipe segment volume plus margin, not to a nominal rack figure. The relevant number is how much fluid can drain out of the specific run of pipe and hose above the pan before a valve or shutoff stops it.

Material compatibility is set by the coolant, since propylene glycol mixtures and dielectric fluids attack different polymers and coatings. A tray rated for one fluid family can degrade or fail early in another.

A containment pan without a monitored drain or sensor cutout catches fluid but does not tell anyone it happened. Detection at the pan is what turns a contained leak into a known event instead of a discovery made later.
